Where compassion meets commitment.
For the Love of Chin, Inc. was founded to ensure no dog is denied care because of cost, with a special focus on Japanese Chin and their unique medical needs.
Born from personal experience and deep compassion, our organization exists to give every dog access to life-enhancing specialty veterinary care. We combine education, financial assistance, and community partnerships to make that vision possible — A future where all dogs thrive through compassionate, integrative care.
How Love
Became a Mission.

For more than two decades, our founder, Sharon, has shared her life with nine Japanese Chin — each one a lesson in loyalty, resilience, and love. Through years of veterinary visits, from specialists to emergency rooms, she witnessed a heartbreaking truth: many devoted owners couldn’t afford the care their pets needed.
For the Love of Chin was born from that realization — and from a promise that no family should have to walk away from the clinic without hope simply because of cost.

Meet Sharon & Dave

Meet Sharon & Dave
Sharon lives in Wexford, Pennsylvania, with her husband Dave and their beloved Japanese Chin family: Sydney, Manly, Shazza, Ella, and Bina. Over the past 23 years, they’ve cared for nine Chin — including Captain, Morgan, Bono Bailey, and Aussie, who remain forever in their hearts.
Her personal experiences with complex medical conditions inspired her to create For the Love of Chin — transforming heartbreak into hope for other families who share that same bond.
